My Holiday Movie List

by Awmber on December 14, 2011

This past weekend I finally started watching all of my favourite Christmas Movies! A few friends came over to my apartment and we watched Home Alone 1 & 2, drank beer and ate ice cream with marshmallows. It was just wonderful! I always love the few weeks leading up to Christmas and have made it a tradition to get in as many holiday flicks as I can. These are my must sees every year!

Okay, I know that Hook isn’t really a Christmas movie, but it’s set during the holidays! Who would be against a little Peter Pan holiday cheer, anyways? Do you have any favourite holiday movies? I’d love to hear them!

I LOVE Prancer – but usually nobody has ever heard of it :D I’ve heard rave reviews of Love Actually but I’ve actually never seen it … I bought it last year, maybe I’ll get around to actually watching it this year!

Wait, what? “The Holiday” is not on your list? Or “Elf”?

Oh god I really didn’t like The Holiday! But I did watch Elf for the first time yesterday! Loved it!

Great list (especially b/c A Christmas Story isn’t on there)!! Glad you liked Elf :) Craving syrup?

Good God, I seriously think I was so deprived as a child. I’ve never seen any of these movies except The Grinch! I know what’s on my to-do list now thanks to this post! :)

I discovered most of these titles after childhood, so don’t worry there’s time to catch up!

I approve this list Awmb. :)

Oh my gosh, I did the exact same things with friends this weekend, with the majority of those movies and eggnog instead of beer! Twins! :D

These are ALL amazing! Love Actually makes my heart SO happy, and I think I’ve watched Hook a hundred times. I also love White Christmas, Elf, Christmas Vacation, It’s A Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown, the list is endless. ;)

Little Women!!! The rest are good too, but Little Women. How can you have Christmas without it?

I’m a huge fan of Love Actually. Colin Firth, Bill Nighy, Martin Freeman!? Yes, yes and yes!

My three favorite holiday movies are: Die Hard (Now I have a machine too. Ho Ho Ho!), Gremlins (scary stuff!) and Emmet Otter’s Jug-band Christmas. An eclectic mix o’ stuff to be sure.

I love these movies, but would also add Elf and It’s a Wonderful Life to this list. It’s just not Christmas without those movies to me.

P.S. I haven’t commented in a while, but have really enjoyed reading about the adventures of your move!
